Sending out some love on a Sunday

Top commenter Rose DesRochers has been the number one top commenter since the inception of my top commenter widget.  How did she do it?  Well, she communicated with me through my comments.  I try to comment back to every single person that leaves a comment with me here.  I always try to have the last word, well, why not, it's my blog after all.  Is that so bad?  You can have the last word on yours, right?  hahaha

Either way, with each comment she is gaining a link in the comment to her site, as well as a notch in her ranking in the top commenters list, which shows on every page in the site.  The more traffic I bring in, the more potential traffic she will get too.  Good on her for recognizing that, and she has helped me to define the blog in certain ways as well.  So Rose, thanks much for all your visits.

I've enjoyed Demeur's style since I read his blog for the first time.  He has also been a great commenter here, and I want to invite each and every person that reads this blog to take a stroll over to his blog and take in a few of his posts.  I consider him my outlet for the things that tick me off with the government, politics and general stupidity.  He has a knack for connecting with me, and perhaps he will with you also?  Give him a look-see.  He also has a thing for beavers...

Karen AKA Nucmed (what does that mean anyway?) runs a blog over at chaosfreeliving.blogspot.com that is simply filled with interesting posts ranging from her personal battles with people offering to smoke crack with her, to her adventures with deliverance.  I usually find her posts quite entertaining, so check her out!

Gary, that old man down around corner.  What can I say about Gary that we don't already know?  Not much, he's a hoot, kick in the pants, and an inspiration to me.  I hope to be as active and go-gettem as he is when and if I reach his age.  He recently blasted his blog and is looking for some help linking back up with everyone he had before.  If you can help him out, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Fish and Frog - Turtle and Blog.  That title just screams creativity to me.  Baker Watson's blog is just a fascinating read on the pond in her back yard.  A pond?  Yes, a pond.  You might think there isn't much interesting about a pond, but take a look at her site, and you will certainly think otherwise.  Ever heard of a fish bed?  How about some dragonflies?  If you have a curious nature about nature, you'll be amazed at some of the things she finds around the pond.

Pixelhead is an interesting creature.  He loves making videos and posting them on Viddler.  Not only that, but he is starting to post tips for bloggers.  He also writes posts on environmental issues too, which I personally enjoy because I could use some reminding on how to leave less of a footprint on the earth.

Want some funny?  Dana over at Life IS Good regularly posts about her life and times and the things that she observes around her.  Her wit is great and her posts will surely put a smile on your face.  Need a lift?  Take a stroll over to her blog and catch a few posts.  You'll be right as rain.  She's going by Hotpants these days.

Tiffany is stuck out in the sticks and needs a blog to communicate with others.  She recently went to a KC and the Sunshine concert.  Let's all hope she survives the torments of the (apparently fabulous) KC.  Tiffany, you still here with us?

I want to recognize a few more people that have stopped by and introduced themselves to me, or that I have commented and they came to visit this oddball that left them some random comment.  :)

  • Tammy has her own little corner of the world - Thank you for stopping by from time to time and commenting.   I'd be interested in hearing more about your spirituality as I have a deep respect for earth as well as pagans do.  The woman that stabbed herself in the foot made me cringe...wonderful!
  • Alex pops her head in from time to leave me some inquisitive thoughtfulness.  She has a nice blog with some interesting posts to read.  In fact, I remember leaving a comment about how nice her feet look with a new henna tattoo...not realizing it was her daughters foot.  Needless to say, I squirmed away to wallow in my own embarrassment.  And yeah, not to dredge up the past, but that probably will come back to bite you.
  • Leslie is co-authoring with Nucmed over at ChaosFreeLiving and did a superb job of keeping the blog going while Karen stepped away for a few days.  I think the two of them blogging together brings the blog to a new, interesting level.  And she loves toads...what's not to like about her?
  • Kenju is a new commenter who is tracking me back from a comment I left on this blog titled Imagine.  He posted some great pics of statues from around the world and are simply intriguing to look at.
  • Finally, I found one Kay Dennison who posts a twice-weekly groaner (a joke gone wrong in my opinion).  Worth checking out for sure!

If there is anyone I have missed, it wasn't intentional.  Just smack me upside the head with an inappropriate comment and I'll learn my lesson. :P

How ya doing?

Still with me?  Good deal.  I wanted to remind everyone that if you have any issues with your Blogger account, you can feel free to pop me an email and ask me anything you'd like.  I'm going to be trying something out here, and I'll have some very exciting news if I can work out the kinks in my idea.  You'll have to check back to find out more about this as I'll be posting on it as things take shape.  Or, you can simply subscribe to my blog via email or with your favorite reader to keep up on things around my site.

This impacts each and every Blogger user and increases the level of help I can provide in a nice and convenient way.  I think you'll like it, please take the time to subscribe.

Love you guys and gals, see you next post!

Thanks for the shout out Wayne. I have been trying to get a tag cloud with a technorati widget, but it isn't happening, and I don't know what ping software is. I don't write code, so I have decided that I SOL. Anyway, get up the good work!

Wish I had stumbled onto you LAST week, when one of my blogs was having that bX failure - do you know what I mean? - where I could post but the URL came up with a bX error. And, from what I could tell, it wasn't just me.

    Hey Wayne,

Thanks for the great comments on the blog and the pond. We try to do our little bit to pass along some interesting photo's with a little nature info thrown in from time to time. We really appreciate your visits and comments.

HAHA Yes I'm still alive but just barely because of a damn lizard. Thanks for the link. And if I get some crazy people over at my blog I'll know YOU sent them. LOL And you would totally love KC if you saw him in concert. I just know it!

@karen - Give me a little recovery time and if you haven't figured it out, we'll work it out together and get you all wired up, hows that sound?

@Roger Green - Hey! Thanks for swinging by! I had heard about an issue with Blogger, but I never noticed it and I never looked any further. From what I know, that issue is resolved now, no?

@BakerWatson - It is my pleasure reading your blog. A great concept and marvelous little stories too. I'm a big fan of bugs, birds and you name it. Plus I think as far as uniqueness goes, you got it going on with your blog!

@Tiffany - (I so want to call you Tiff...) I seem to gather and collect the far out people sometimes, but there are a few normals among us. hahaha I actually had a KC album when I was about 5 or 6 (70's) and I really liked it. Until I found Iron Maiden, Ozzy and everything that killed disco...I listen to it now and here...OMG! Disco? I listened to disco? Oh brother...what happened to me?

For me, concerts are fun no matter who's on stage anyway. Glad you survived!

I'm a little late to the party here, but I too want to say thanks for the shout out! And don't be TOO embarrassed, I NEVER post real life pics of myself, so how were you to know?

    Wayne Says:

@alex - true that. I may have exaggerating my embarrassment, but I never really got over that. lol

Never late if your always ready!

Resolved, yes, but I went to the boards, finding lots of people with the same problem, but little in the way of how to fix it or even if Blogger was aweare of the problem.

@Roger Green - yeah, that would make me freak a little bit. To work on some long post and then try to view it only to see nothing? Panic!

At least it sounds like it's resolved now. Do you write your posts using the Blogger post editor or some external tool?
  1. Roger Green
    Roger Green Says:

Either or. Sometimes in Word, sometimes on the post. Thing was, I could write, I could post, I just couldn't find the main page to see the post. The Blogger Dashboard said it was published, and indeed it was (as it turns out), but no one going to the homepage would find anything but the bX error. Interestingly, the page DID get some hits from people going to links, for they have specific links, so THOSE could be found by Google, etc. Quite bizarre.

Check it out mango: Any links must be entered as http://www.somewhere.com with nothing touching it. Anything else will be mangled. This is to help combat spam and to also ensure the masses know of this little tidbit before they click Save comment below. :) I have this down to remind me to do something with it, but I take things slow and easy on the old horse.

Keeps her regular don't ya know, and I wouldn't want to disturb that.
